Become a volunteer and help impact the local community.

We are always looking for folks to join our team to help out with our farm and community efforts. Many hands make light work. If you are interested in volunteering with BUFA we have opportunities every 4th Saturday.

  • A Garden Helper volunteer assists with gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, and maintaining green spaces. This role typically involves basic gardening knowledge and manual labor.

    Difficulty level: Easy

    Limitations may include physical strain and exposure to outdoor elements.

  • A planter volunteer on a farm is responsible for planting seeds or seedlings in fields. They prepare the soil, space and plant crops following guidelines.

    Difficulty level: Moderate

    Limitations include physical demands and weather-dependent work, potentially limited skill development beyond planting tasks.

  • A Yard Clean Up volunteer on a farm is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the farm's outdoor areas. This includes removing debris, trash, and keeping pathways clear.

    Difficulty level: Easy

    Limitations may involve physical stamina and exposure to weather conditions.

  • A Non-Garden Volunteer on a farm assists with various tasks outside of gardening, such as animal care, maintenance, or administrative duties.

    Difficulty level: Moderate

    Limitations depend on the task, but may include physical demands and exposure to outdoor elements, but it's generally accessible for most volunteers with basic farm-related skills.

  • An Equipment Operator on a farm operates machinery like tractors and combines to perform tasks such as plowing, planting, and harvesting crops. Their role is crucial for efficient farm operations.

    Limitations may include physical demands and exposure to outdoor elements.

  • A Handy Worker on a farm performs various manual tasks such as maintenance, repairs, and assisting with daily operations. Their role includes fixing equipment, fencing, and general labor.

Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with BUFA. We have a variety of roles that need filling.

Volunteer Commitments

A 2-3 hour shift once a month.
7am to 9am every 4th Saturday of the month.

Volunteer Perks

At the end of each shift for all your labor of love, you’re able to take home a bag of produce from that day’s harvest.
